Day 1:

  • Upon arrival in Athens, your coach will be ready to transfer you from the airport to your accommodation.
  • After check-in at the hotel is completed, the journey through Greece begins with a visit to the National Archaeological Museum
  • In the evening, dinner in Plaka.

Day 2:

  • In the morning, you will visit the Acropolis museum, followed after lunch by a guided tour of the Acropolis and Greek Agora.
  • This evening, dinner will take place at the same restaurant again.

Day 3:

  • Today, you will depart from Athens, heading for the Peloponnese. The first stop is at the site of Eleusis, known for the Eleusinian mysteries.
  • The mysteries were initiations, shrouded in secrecy and religious rites, which took place annually in honor of the Goddess Demeter, her daughter Persephone as well as Dionysus.
  • Next, the journey continues with a visit to Ancient Corinth.
  • After lunch, you will be brought to your accommodation in Tolo and once check-in is complete, time for a refreshing dip in the sea.

Day 4:

  • A full itinerary for the day, with excursions to Mycenae, Nemea, Nafplion and Epidaurus.

Day 5:

  • Today you will leave Tolo and head towards Delphi.
  • The first stop on your itinerary today is the monastery of Osios Lucas, which is considered one of the most beautiful Byzantine buildings in Greece and embellished with ornamental mosaics and frescoes.
  • This afternoon, you will visit the archaeological site of Delphi.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Delphi.

Day 6:

  • The morning begins with a guided tour of the museum and its famous charioteer.
  • The journey continues towards Kalambaka where your accommodation is located.
  • In the afternoon some monasteries in Meteora will be visited, these monasteries are built on high rock formations. Due to centuries of wind and water erosion (the Thessalian plane was once an inland sea) the imposing rock formations have acquired a unique appearance.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Kalambaka.

Dag 7:

  • After visiting a few more monasteries, you will leave for the sanctuary of Dion.
  • Located at the foot of Mount Olympus, where the Greek gods resided according to Greek mythology, this sanctuary is dedicated to the Supreme God Zeus.

Dag 8:

  • The journey continues towards Thessaloniki, the excursion today starts with a visit to the Archaeological museum and ends with a tour of the Byzantine museum.

Dag 9:

  • In the morning, you will visit Vergina, which, relatively recently became famous when a Greek professor named Manolis Andronikos made an archaeological discovery, on November 8, 1977.
  • During excavation outside the village, the entrance to an unmarked tomb was discovered. Inside, among other things, a skull was unearthed with a damaged eye socket, according to Andronikos, this was proof that the grave belonged to King Philippos II, who lost his eye, when he was injured by a spear.
  • It is a World Heritage site.
  • In the early afternoon you will be transferred to the airport in Thessaloniki for your flight back.
